Overfilling the engine oil may cause severe dieseling due to the churning effect. It may lead to engine damage accompanied with abrupt engine speed increment, combustion noise, and white smoke emission.
Fuel, engine coolant and engine oil
High-speed travel consumes more fuel than urban motoring. Do not forget to check both engine coolant and engine oil.

Continuous contact with USED engine oil has caused skin cancer in laboratory mice. Protect your skin by washing with soap and water. Keep all engine oil out of the reach of children.
- Warm the engine up for a few minutes and then turn it off. Remove the oil filler cap.
- Drain the oil into a suitable container after removing the oil filler cap and drain plug.
- Remove the engine oil filter with an oil filter wrench.
- Use a clean rag to clean the oil filter mounting surface on the engine.
- Apply a small amount of engine oil to the new oil filter O-ring seal.
- Install the oil filter and tighten it. (Refer to the oil filter caution label for tightening instructions.)
- Replace the drain plug tightly after the oil has thoroughly drained.
- Refill the engine with new oil to the F mark on the dipstick. Do not overfill.
- Re-install the oil filler cap securely.
- Start the engine and inspect around the oil filter seal for leaks. Stop the engine. Check the oil level and fill to the F mark, if necessary.

Check the engine oil level and leak every 500 km (350 miles) or before starting a long trip.
- If the recommended oil is not available, replace engine oil and engine oil filter every 20,000 km (13,000 miles) or 12 months.
- The engine oil level should be checked regularly and maintained properly. Operating with an insufficient amount of oil can damage the engine, and such damage is not covered by the warranty.
Always be sure to clean the area around any filler plug, drain plug, or dipstick before checking or draining any lubricant. This is especially important in dusty or sandy areas and when the vehicle is used on unpaved roads.
Cleaning the plug and dipstick areas will prevent dirt and grit from entering the engine and other mechanisms that could be damaged.
Engine oil viscosity (thickness) has an effect on fuel economy and cold weather operating (engine start and engine oil flowability). Lower viscosity engine oils can provide better fuel economy and cold-weather performance, however, higher viscosity engine oils are required for satisfactory lubrication in hot weather.
Using oils of any viscosity other than those recommended could result in engine damage. When choosing an oil, consider the range of temperature your vehicle will be operated in before the next oil change. Proceed to select the recommended oil viscosity from the chart.
