The Ford Flex is a full-size crossover that was built by the Ford Motor Company and was available from the 2009 through 2019 model years. The Flex, which took the place of the Ford Freestar minivan after its introduction, was sized between the Explorer and standard-wheelbase Expedition in the Ford vehicle range.
The Flex was launched as a concept vehicle in 2005, but it subsequently became a 5-door wagon for production to better meet consumer demand. The Ford D4 chassis architecture is based on a flexible-wheelbase variant of the Ford D3 platform, which is why the model line is built on this platform.
The 2011-2019 Explorer and Lincoln MKT used the same D4 chassis; they shared no-body pieces yet served as direct competitors because of their similar no-body body panels.
The Ford Flex was built in Oakville Assembly (Oakville, Ontario) from June 2008 until its cancellation; the Flex and Lincoln MKT were co-developed alongside the Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX (now known as the Lincoln Nautilus). The Flex was sold throughout North America, as well as in the Middle East and Canada.

How Much Oil and What Engine Oil Capacity is The Best For Ford Flex?
The 2019 Ford Flex with a 3.5L turbo engine takes 6 quarts of 5W-30 oil. For your car, we recommend Motorcraft motor oil. If Motorcraft oil is not available, use motor oils of the proper viscosity grade that conform to API SN specifications and display the API Certification Mark for gasoline engines. Unless the label also displays the API certification mark, do not use oil identified with API SN service category.
Recommended Engine Oil For Ford Flex
The warranty does not cover any engine damage caused by using extra engine oil additives, which is why they should be avoided.
API for Gasoline Engines:
This sign means that the oil meets the current engine, emission system, and fuel efficiency requirements set by ILSAC. Because they are superfluous and may cause engine damage that would not be covered by your vehicle warranty, do not use extra engine oil additives.
